Malice Press is dedicated to the advancement of the small press and self-published writer. Initially, we created it to publish the best work we could discover. Since the opening of the website, we were overwhelmed by submissions. We simply didn't have the resources or funds to support our goals.There were too many titles we wanted to publish, so most were rejected, even though they had enough merit to be in print. This is unfortunate.
Alot of writers don't realize how easy and cost effective it is to get into print. Present technology has made it possible for talented writers to get published without going through the arduous process of submitting and re-submitting their work, only to be consistently rejected. Often, this isn't a true reflection of the quality of work, but the nature of the publishing business. Like many venues of art, talent isn't necessarily enough. Statistics have shown that it is more likely to get struck by lightening than it is to get a book published by a major commercial publisher.
Malice Press is about, and for, the independant self-published and small press writer. It's purpose is to support aspiring writers.
